PARENT & SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT

THE PURPOSE OF THIS LEAGUE IS TO GIVE CHILDREN AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY BASKETBALL IN A POSITIVE ATMOSPHERE OF FUN, COMPETITION, AND RESPECT FOR OTHERS. TO ASSURE THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN WE MUST REQUIRE ALL SPECTATORS WHO ATTEND GAMES AT ALL OF THE FACILITIES USED BY THE LEAGUE, TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THEM.

Parents/Guardians are held responsible for the behavior of all invited guests/fans of the family and player, please read and understand what is outlined below:

1. Use of any FOUL or THREATENING language is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Game officials or a league official will ask anyone who is in violation to leave the facility. If he or she refuses to leave the game, the game will be stopped until he or she leaves the facility. Further refusal will result in running the clock without play on the court until the person is removed. Further refusal will result in the involvement of law enforcement.
2. Use of physical violence of any sort inside or on the grounds of a facility run by Temecula Youth Basketball Leagues will result in an immediate ban and likely criminal charges.
3. Spectators will “cheer” for their team, not yell negative and derogatory comments at the other team. Spectators are encouraged to make only positive and supportive comments from the stands.
4. Spectators are not allowed to come on to the court at any time once the game begins – unless in the event of an injury and ONLY at the request of a coach or game officials.
5. Spectators are not permitted to speak to game officials – at all, period.
6. Spectators are not approach the scorers table at any time. Spectators are not permitted to yell across the court at the scorekeepers.
7. Any of the above mentioned violations can result in a team technical foul and may result in forfeiture of the game. Continued violations from a spectator may result in the
spectator being banned from the remainder of the league’s season.

It is the policy of this league that it is for the kids. TYBL Board Members, Coaches, Score keepers and Game Officials all participate in order to give kids the chance to play a high quality of basketball in a safe environment. Any person or thing standing in the way of that will be removed from that atmosphere.

Thank you for your cooperation.
